THEOLOGY

Hey everyone! I don’t like 3rd person bios so I’m gonna speak to you directly. My name is Theology and I am a VGM Remix producer and DJ from Minneapolis, MN! I’m also a mental health activist and I believe that, if harnessed properly, video games can be amazing for our mental health. Thus, my content ecosystem explores the ideas found within video games and how they can improve us as humans.

I have been DJing and producing for 16 years and I am a veteran of the trance scene (my previous music being supported by Above & Beyond, Cosmic Gate, and Fatum), but I also create every single genre of EDM. My remixes are melodic and beautiful (as video game music is) but I combine this nuance with really uplifting chords and incredibly dirty bass.

You may have seen me recently at 2D Con, VGM Con, or MagFest, and I have also just made collaboration remixes with the likes of Vector U, Player2, Noteblock, Stemage, The Limit Breakers, and more. It has been such an honor to collab with so many of my heroes and be a part of this community! The VGM scene truly has the most talented and accepting people I’ve ever met.

Video Game music is special to all of us, and I hope the journey that my music takes you on inspires you in some way shape or form. It’s a weird world out there, so let’s not only escape together, but come out on the other side better-equipped to spread love!

MN Black Authors Expo

Since its inception in 2017, the mission of MN Black Authors Expo is to support and encourage Black authors to raise their voices and fully express the utterances of their hearts, minds and experiences. We also provide diverse and unique platforms and  opportunities for Black Authors. Each year, we partner with businesses, literary organizations and local libraries to maximize the reach and audiences for MBAE authors.

MBAE’s goal to reduce the disparities that affect authors of color and limit their ability to achieve their literary and personal goals. We are determined more than ever to close the wealth gap by building a stronger network for Black authors, find and access writing resources. Our greatest investment is grooming local authors to launch and expand their literary enterprises and
endeavors.

We are also committed to empowering all children, especially children of color, to develop a love of reading! We encourage them to become authors of their own stories and to read, write and lead! Early exposure to books and writing tools promote self-worth, improves literacy rates and ignites the love of reading and writing in children. Ultimately, our goal is to reduce the achievement disparities in urban communities, which begin by raising literacy rates. These goals are lofty but achievable if we all commit to them. Raising literacy rates and improving writing skills in children is good for the economy, the stability of all communities and ensures the future of the creatives and artists everywhere!
